Public Safety Commission

The People Matter Public Safety Commission aims to bring fresh perspectives, new methods, and open-minds to help create feasible ways to decrease violence in Chicago, especially amongst women and schools in low-income communities. With this commission, we hope to increase mental health resources for all disadvantaged communities and advocate for alternative methods to create safer communities. We also want to change the narrative and have people understand that violence isn’t Chicago’s only story.
